Melons Kitchen sells gourmet hot sauces and other condiments. The name, based on its founder who is affectionately called Melon, denotes its roots as a family brand, having started in the family kitchen with the family painstakingly cooking and packaging each individual jar.

We wished to showcase the story behind Melons Kitchen through its packaging, designing two key illustrations: A portrait of Melon, showed smack-dab in the center of the packaging, and the “runner,” a Sisyphus-type figure struggling under the weight of the chili pepper and garlic running to and fro. We wanted to maintain a touch of humor in the communication of Melon’s, while also showing the genuinely hectic and frantic nature of running a food and beverage brand.

Through bold, vibrant colors we created divisions within their range of products, and refined their strategy to stand out in the grocery aisle.
